Lorraine Meets Rosalie, found object collage/assem

Lorraine Meets Rosalie, found object collage/assemblage created from paper and other objects found on the streets of Melbourne, including the glasses splattered with yellow paint adhered to an art magazine cover. The name for the work comes from the bottom of the magazine cover. Works by both Lorraine and Rosalie have been inspirational for me—they being Lorraine Connelly-Northey and Rosalie Gascogne, who are/were wizards with found objects.

Yesterday I said goodbye and thanks to Rel, the owner of Dimora Designs @dimora_designs in Geelong, who has carried my brooches and cityscapes in her shop for the past few years. She remains open until Christmas, and there are bargains galore, so even if you can no longer buy a NancyDee wall sculpture, she has lots of other Christmas prezzie options. Plus she serves a great locally roasted coffee! She will be taking a break for a while next year, but here’s hoping she’ll start up Dimora again in the future! We’ll miss you!

Golden City in Miniature 2, wall sculpture created from a terra cotta Italian tile, a range of gold-coloured screws and a gold-coloured disc, all found on the streets of Melbourne. Available at @dimora_designs , Fyansford Paper Mill, Geelong—but only until early afternoon this Saturday 16 November.

Very sadly, Dimora will be closing down later this year, and I am retrieving my brooches and cityscapes this weekend so that owner Rel has one less thing to have to deal with. But do check out the bargains she is offering on the amazing range of art and homewares in the shop—and enjoy one of her great coffees while you’re there!
